The Boys - S1 & S2

At Prime Video, Caroline was part of the team that set the creative marketing foundations for the hit series, The Boys. She led all AV development on Seasons 1 & 2, covering scripting and producing custom content, developing trailers and spots, and overseeing the creation of innovative media placements. From fake Japanese-language commercials to real Laser Babies and everything inbetween, Caroline helped set the irreverent, anything-goes marketing approach that has connected some many eager viewers to the fast-paced wit of The Boys. Season 1’s Integrated campaign won a Bronze Clio; Season 2’s Integrated campaign won a Silver Clio; and the team brought home a Gold Clio for a custom video produced during Season 2 with YouTuber Michael Reeves. Below is a very small sampling of the campaign.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel - S4

On Season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Caroline took on the role of a single-threaded marketing lead, setting overall campaign strategy, identifying reach audiences, establishing the creative tone, and fulfilling the creative development. For the fourth season of this beloved franchise, we wanted to reinvigorate the series. No more pretty pinks and fancy hats—we wanted to get to the core of what makes Midge “Midge”, and bring her attitude and independence front and center. We photographed Midge in extreme close up (a Maisel first) for an Avedon-inspired teaser piece, and set her amid a down-and-dirty downtown backdrop for the payoff. We forewent a fancy premiere and instead took over NYC’s Bryant Park and turned their ice rink pink for a Maisel-themed skate night where we brought fans and talent together for on skates (to the tune of a huge earned media return). We took over NYC’s Plaza Hotel for a month, and made it a haven for fans—complete with a bookable Maisel themed suite and a Maisel tea menu. And we leaned into the look and feel of the early 1960s, and convinced Tupperware to bring back their signature bowls in their original 60s pastel colorway—just like the ones Midge pedals at her own in-show Tupperware party.

The Expanse - S4 & S5
When Amazon saved The Expanse—a fan-favorite sci fi series—from cable cancellation, the Prime Video team was tasked with bringing the show’s very vocal fandom to streaming and expanding the audience on a Season 4. Caroline lead development of all AV on Seasons 4 and 5, and worked as part of a team of three to drive all the custom marketing elements on this series, making this intricate, intellectual, character-driven story accessible to newcomers while surprising and delighting fans with Easter Eggs, interactive events, and cast-forward content that met their wants and desires. From an Expanse Drone Show at ReInvent, to a Roci with a real prop pilot chair at NYCC, to an extensive cast-supported Twitch watch-a-thon, we executed custom marketing activations that brought The Expanse out of extinction and into the spotlight.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

On bestselling YA author Jenny Han’s new series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Caroline lead establishing the global marketing strategy and setting the series’ creative campaign. While scheduling changes required her to leave the project mid-stream, she worked closely with Jenny Han on the first creative beats, including the teaser poster that became the MTI cover of the original book, and overseeing development for the gallery and the official keyart.

Smurfs: The Lost Village

The third Smurfs film showcased a whole new world for the iconic blue creatures. Caroline helped bring that world to life with the international A/V campaign for Sony’s animated feature, tailoring TV spots to different territories’ relationship to this longstanding IP. The result was a campaign that kept ages-old characters feeling fun, fresh and colorful, and that was a success at the international box office.

Snowpiercer
Bong Joon-ho’s epic sci-fi masterpiece was a joy to market while Caroline was at RADiUS/The Weinstein Company. The A/V campaign focused on maximizing the film’s stunning visuals, incomparable performances from Tilda Swinton and Chris Evans, and epically gonzo action sequences, starting with a Tilda-narrated teaser that was catnip for arthouse fans, and moving on to a more genre-oriented payoff trailer to widen the audience. The film became one of RADiUS’s biggest success stories, with its unique multi-platform release strategy.

It Follows
While at RADiUS, Caroline crafted the marketing and creative campaign for the most original and unique horror movie in years, David Robert Mitchell’s It Follows. The A/V and print played into the scares while never losing touch of the elements that made the film so mind-boggingly great—this was, after all, a horror film that debuted at Cannes Critics’ Week. The marketing and the amazing critical reception helped launch this indie thriller into a successful wide theatrical release. Below are the trailer, a sample of the TV spots, and both the payoff and the teaser key art looks.
